 Buddha Bubba applied for an occupational license yesterday in the city of Gainesville, Florida.  the license application was done on-line, from new Orleans and was completed  within 10 minutes, with questions like ... "...what else can we do to help you.  Meanwhile, a business license applied for five years ago to do business in the city of New Orleans is still not in hand.

The Housing Authority gave away the building to the Arts Council, which is tearing it down.  In the meantime, forgoing the swap offered by Buddha Bubba, the Housing Authority is renting space from a Political Crony. 

 

 

 

 

...The Housing Authority gave away their equity in exchange for renting space from someone else.  In other words, they received nothing - zip, nada, zero - for that transaction.

    Buddah has been gone for too long. Not that he had nothing to say, but more so that he had toooooooo much to say.
     I am convinced that Americans are so isolated and self-centered that they cannot separate  fact from fiction and real from fantasy.
I have spent the last two years at the epicenter of media fiction, celebrity grandstanding and political demi-godery. though I was tired of the word Katrina only days after the event; and I promise not to use it again, it is the excuse for everything failed in the city that is the poster child for failure. that is why it is such a tourist haven, it's third world appearance.
     How the bleeding hearts create socialism and a failure mentality: I watch people every day who complain about what hasn't been done for them. Those include those who were un-insured, homeless and useless before THE EVENT. They are being given; to at unimaginable rates. food, shelter, clothing, stypens educatiion, all that I must pay for. Don't go calling a nasty mean heartless person. I'm not.
     What I can't understand is how I pay taxes (property taxes have increased by 300% this year) for no purpose that helps me; we have terrible streets, aweful schools irratic garbage pick-up and worst of all uncontrolable crime.
     I pay astronomical insurance rates, but those who were uninsured were given Road Home Grants that made them whole (to the tune of 9 BBILLLLLIOOOOONNNN dollars. Why should I pay any longer, if I know that someone else will pay for my high-risk property.
      We have decided to, and this is one of the biggest anomolies of all, to close the Intra-coastal waterway for flood protection. This canal was created to move the Space shuttle components manufactured here to Florida by barge. If closed we cannot get them delivered there.
     All this, is of course, Racism.The fact that the rich white people are denying the poor black people. Sharpton has been here and said so, therefore it is true.
     The refugies that are scattered across the country do not want to come back, they have found new Wet-nurses elsewhere, but-they were bussed (isn't bussing a racial thing) from Atlanta, Houston and Dallas to substation at the state lines for them.to vote in the last mayorial election. The mayors of all the new hosts want them shipped back to New Orleans
    The imported demonstrators, those that show up all over the country for a price, were here and made national news because protesting the demolition of the "Projects". Those cages where people lived as cattle, but still on the Liberal Plantation System, lived like animals. They are to be replaced with less dense, less crime ridden Scattered Site Housing
     definition of leech: a creature that sucks the life (blood), owes its existence, to/ from a host; SOMETIMES CAUSING THE DEATH OF THE HOST. That sounds remarkable like a Socialist..

 

 

Anarchy

The word Anarchy makes most people cringe and shudder at the thoughts of the "Wild in the Streets". To me it means the Freedoms that we once thought were our rights.

The Bill of Rights
The First Amendment guarantees the freedom of worship, of speech, of the press, of assembly, and of petition to the government for redress of grievances. This amendment has been the center of controversy in recent years in the areas of free speech and religion. The Supreme Court has held that freedom of speech does not include the right to refuse to testify before a Congressional investigating committee and that most organized prayer in the public schools violates the First Amendment.
The right to bear arms openly–adopted with reference to state militias–is guaranteed by the Second Amendment, while freedom from quartering soldiers in a house without the owner's consent is guaranteed by the Third Amendment. The Fourth Amendment protects people against unreasonable search and seizure, a safeguard only recently extended to the states.
The Fifth Amendment provides that no person shall be held for "a capital or otherwise infamous crime" without indictment, be twice put in "jeopardy of life or limb" for the same offense, be compelled to testify against himself, or "be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law." The privilege against self-incrimination has been the center of a great deal of controversy as a result of the growth of Congressional investigations. The phrase "due process of law," which appears in the Fifth Amendment, is also included in the Fourteenth Amendment. As a result there has been much debate as to whether both amendments guarantee the same rights. Those in favor of what is termed fixed due process claim that all the safeguards applied against the federal government should be also applied against the states through the Fourteenth Amendment. The supporters of the concept of flexible due process are only willing to impose those guarantees on the states that "are implicit in the concept of ordered liberty."
The Sixth Amendment guarantees the right of speedy and public trial by an impartial jury in all criminal proceedings, while the Seventh Amendment guarantees the right of trial by jury in almost all common-law suits. Excessive bail, fines and "cruel and unusual" punishment are prohibited by the Eighth Amendment. The Ninth Amendment states that "The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."
By the Tenth Amendment "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Powers reserved to the states are often termed "residual powers." This amendment, like the commerce clause, has been a battleground in the struggle over states' rights and federal supremacy.

By my silly interpretation of the core document of our existence; and the United States of America would not have happened without the Bill of Rights, we are living with a government far removed and far worse than the one that the Brilliant men who wrote it overthrew. 
I won't even go into the Tea in the Sea, and how much more exponentially taxed we are than those in the 18th century colonies.

I no longer have any of the rights listed above. The nibbling of government has chipped them all away. There wasn't one day that simple took them, they have pin pricked them away from me. The great tragedy is that they taken away in the name of protecting some one from me.

Ruby Ridge and Waco throw out 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th Amendment. I think that all of them. Though these are extreme cases, they represent how Americans have lost touch of their "rights". Most people just saw these "extremists" as needing what was done to them. Whatttttttttt? It seems, as long as it does not affect the daily dribble of most peoples lives, they just don't care. Give me aggresive behaviors and winner take all kind of thinking and America might survive the 21st century, just maybe.

The "help" of government

I know that I sound like a broken record, but government seems to not get it at any level, and it is driving me out of my gourd.
There are so many items to place in this diatribe, but impossible to relate.
My city just bought new parking meters to replace the ones the last administration bought and had not finished paying for the entire city. The catch is that they could have been bought for 62% less than that which was paid to a friend of the mayor.
At the same time they appoint a Blue Ribbon Commission to boost the Cruise ship business, which had flourished and grew under no "help" from the government. They want to add $7.50 per person to board ships at the city dock, great for business.
Concurrently they set up a parallel commission to "help" the Movie industry which was growing in the early 90's until a similar commission "helped" them leave town. Without "help" it resurged in the last 2 years, and the commission is going to run them out of town again.
This same government has spent efforts to enforce ordinances which are detrimental to small business, and beneficial to those who bribe them, yes big donation for the purpose of creating an end result are a bribe.
We no longer need government as it has been, I don't mean overthrow it, but we must bring it into the 21st century. Interactive and responsive to US.
Why can't government see that we do not need them Why can't they see past the end of their ponderous proboscis. 

Warped Language

I was reading through my junk emails and something struck me about our language and how we have prostituted it over the years, mostly by the "lottery mentally" of lowering the standard to the base common denominator.
I read the words, "start saving today". The words were about buy something right now before you miss you opportunity to buy it at a cheaper price. 
In my world those words mean to set aside, to save for a rainy day. In other words take care of your self.
The words to most of our society means, spend fast so you do not lose money. There are many examples of this contempo-speak that I will try to assembly in a glossary for my own. To those who believe the grand lies told today, they make these terrible "savings" and then ask someone to "save" them out of the mistake. Some one else must protect them from the predator, when they must pay for the savings.

 

Politicians

Why are politicians, politicians?
Because they can't do anything else. Where else can a pathological liar keep a job. A few cases in point. There is a female US Senator from Louisiana, who in one breathe said that the president budget and its subsequent deficit was a crime and then said that there wasn't enough money being spent on ...programs.
I was once the state campaign manager for an independent presidential candidate. He was for a flat tax and income tax reform and reduction of government.  He dropped out and since become a far left wing clone.
Before I go off on some obscure tack, the reason for this tirade is the current Federal budget. We have heard for years that the Republicans, if in power would reduce  Federal spending. Well, they did it, by .0008%. In other words, nothing! They were going to fix Social Security and now, raise taxes, that works! They are supposed to represent US, the people. How many of us care about $1,000,000 spent for the celebration of the Norwegian 100 years anniversary of independence in Seattle. Give me that money in the real economy and business can make that money repeat, by that I mean create a trail of spend and re-spend the same money. By the time that the Administration of that money is finished by government there is no money going anywhere, outside of the Administrators hands.
Politicians must lie. It is our fault. WE don't want to hear the truth, so they give us what we want. We want to be secure, hence Social Security. WE do not want to take the risk of fending for ourselves, so we take a poor solution, The peculiar thing is that government employees can opt out of Social Security. We did years ago and have built a large nest-egg that the government can't control and we have produced an income in those 8 years that will generate more for our retirement years than the 30 in Social Security.
I think that the time has come to remove government from our lives as an institution. We can make our own decisions. There is way too much dependence upon the decisions of few distant, removed and uncaring Mercenaries over our daily lives, and particularly the rest of our lives. WE can all use interactive TV and Cable and the Web to create our own rules and trials and foreign exchange. That would be chaos, but real and true Democracy. Safe and secure is not Democracy.

 

 

Freedom versus Control

The current discussion about Social Security is the most pointed discussion of the future life  of Americans.
If we look at the words themselves we get an indication of the Conflict, practically an oxymoron. Social-meaning the way we relate to others and security-meaning our own personal comfort. They are in conflict by their nature.
Control and Freedom are also in conflict and if we juxtapose Control upon Social and Freedom on Security, we can extend the discussion.
Social Security is BUSTED, broke and needs to be changed so that the future is secure. That means that we must stop using the government bribery payment to buy of problems. By that, I mean that the expansion of Welfare, again there is another semantic problem, was done to buy off the poor; to prevent the riots of 1969.Then was grown into a vote buying scheme which cannot retreat from current levels and can't Social Security, because it would disenfranchise many people. Bull Shit!
I am coming upon Retirement age. I don't want and have never wanted the "government" to do anything for me, only go away and stay out of my pockets. I don't want them to be there for me. I have taken care of myself. Those who "need" social security to save their old age belong in Cuba or China or the old USSR. They have always been willing to give up Freedom for security and let Social dictate Control.
WE must learn to take care of ourselves.

 

The death of Liberalism

We all had our causes in our exuberant youth. My brother had the American Indians, my sister still has the Animals. Mine was general injustice, but specifically the treatment of Negroes in America.

In my teens and twenties I was a militant integrationist. I was arrested once in a march when I was only 13 years old. That is a great story in itself but for another day. During college days, I was not one of those who hung out on campus and partied. I was there on my own nickel and was there to be educated. Now there is another story for another time, "Education" in America. Who's education? Working at time when they were playing at college I had a different perspective about almost everything, still do.

I had been working as many as 3 jobs at a time since I was 7 years old and was an entrepreneur early in life. I believed then as I do now that every body deserve at least one chance, maybe more; but when you have blown opportunities "given to you", then you are on your own. This is where Liberalism dies. Liberals believe that there is no end to "giving" chances to  failures. I believe that we must not hold anyone back, help and mentor and teach them how to "bake the Bread", not keep "giving them the loaf". If they will not take the hand and expect a reward for failure, then let them fail. I have been called all kinds of names, most often by those who are guilty of what they accuse me of, but they are too ignorant to see the light.

The point is that logic gets in the way of blindness. I have many protégées out there, people in whom I have a great deal of time and emotional invested. I have some great successes and dismal failures. In every case there has been apiece of me taken in the process. So I am what the Liberals want to be and they call me a Bastard for the harsh realities of the way things are and must be, rather than the way that OZ should be in their minds.

We want peace with out war, not possible.

We want no crime without occasional police brutality, not possible

I want freedom without sacrifice, impossible.
To them sacrifice is throwing money at a problem, not taking time to work one on one with someone who is lost in the wildness. I have a few true friends, people who will do anything for me and I them, but they are few. The rest who think ill of me to hell I say, be gone spot!
The real world to them is some show on TV, not expanding their horizons past the end of their noses
